About the MOT
What is an MOT?
The MOT is an annual test that most vehicles in the UK need once they are three years old. It checks that your vehicle meets minimum road safety and environmental standards, including the brakes, tyres, lights and emissions.
If your vehicle passes, you receive an MOT certificate. If it fails, the faults must be repaired and the vehicle retested. Driving without a valid MOT can lead to a fine and may affect your insurance.
Book your MOT and service together and you may be eligible for pickup and drop-off.

Electric & hybrid
Do electric and hybrid cars need an MOT?
Yes. Electric and hybrid vehicles need an MOT once they are three years old, just like petrol and diesel cars. Some checks differ because of their components, but there is no exemption.
We test hybrid and electric vehicles at KwikFix Motors. You can check when your MOT is due on GOV.UK.
